• Python raises a KeyError (for an out of dictionary key) even though the key IS in the dictionary

  I'm getting a KeyError for an out of dictionary key, even though I know the key IS in fact in the dictionary. Any ideas as to what might be causing this? print G.keys() returns the following: ['24', '25', '20', '21', '22', '23', '1', '3', '2', '5', '4', '7', '6', '9', '8', '11', '10', '13', '12', '15', '14', '17', '16', '19', '18'] but when I try to access a value in the dictionary on the next line of code... for w in G[v]: #note that in this example, v = 17 I get the following error message: KeyError: 17 Any help, tips, or advice are all appreciated.   i need a dropdownlist to show current month and year (January 2010) till January 2011, and an additional record of January 2011 +. • recursive enumeration of integer subsets?

  I have an NSArray of NSNumbers with integer values such as [1,10,3]. I want to get the sum of all the possible subsets of these numbers. For example for 1,10 and 3 i would get: 1, 10, 3, 1+10=11, 1+3=4, 10+3=13, 1+10+3=14 there are 2^n possible combinations. I understand the math of it but im having difficulties putting this into code. so how can i put this into a method that would take the initial array of numbers and return an array with all the sums of the subsets? e.g -(NSArray *) getSums:(NSArray *)numbers; I understand that the results grow exponentially but im going to be using it for small sets of numbers.

  I am trying to create a regex to gather info from strings that look like this: A22xB67-E34... for any number. I have the regex: @spaceCode = "[A-Z]([A-Z0-9][0-9]|[0-9])" @moveCode=/^(?<one>#{@spaceCode})((?<mode>x|\-)(?<two>#{@spaceCode}))+$/ However I get: s="A11-A22xA33".scan(@moveCode) => [["A11", "11", "xA33", "x", "A33", "33"]] which is most definatly NOT what I want. The string could be any length of C22 etc, with either x or - as the seperator, and put it into an array like: ['A22','x',B22','-'.......] Examples: "A22xB23-D23xE25" => ['A22','x','B23','=','D23','E25;] "AA2xA9-A1" => ['AA2','x','A9','-','A1']

• Physical storage of data in Access 2007

  I've been trying to estimate the size of an Access table with a certain number of records. It has 4 Longs (4 bytes each), and a Currency (8 bytes). In theory: 1 Record = 24 bytes, 500,000 = ~11.5MB However, the accdb file (even after compacting) increases by almost 30MB (~61 bytes per record). A few extra bytes for padding wouldn't be so bad, but 2.5X seems a bit excessive - even for Microsoft bloat. What's with the discrepancy? The four longs are compound keys, would that matter?

  I made this simple function (remove all $elem from $array): function remall($array, $elem) { for($i=0; $i < count($array); $i++) if($array[$i] == $elem) unset($array[$i]); $newarray = array_values($array); return $newarray; } But it isn't working perfectly, here are some inputs and outputs $u = array(1, 7, 2, 7, 3, 7, 4, 7, 5, 7, 6, 7); $r = remall($u, 7); Output of $r: 12345767 $n = array(7, 7, 1, 7, 3, 4, 6, 7, 2, 3, 1, -3, 10, 11, 7, 7, 7, 2, 7); $r = remall($n, 7); Output of $r: 1346231-30117727 Notice how there are still 7s in my outputs. Also, My function will only be removing numbers from an array. Let me know if you spot something, thanks.

  Examples of the translations I need to do: $stringDate = "November 2009"; $output = "11/09"; $stringDate = "October 1 2010"; $output = "10/01/2010"; $stringDate = "January 2010"; $output = "01/10"; $stringDate = "January 9 2010"; $output = "01/09/2010"; Note that I do not know which format the $stringDate will be in and the lack of commas in the month day year set.   I have several TEXT and/or MEDIUMTEXT fields in each of our 1000 MySQL tables. I now know that TEXT fields are written to disk rather than in memory when queried. Is that also true even if that field is not called in the query? For example, if I have a table (tbExam) with 2 fields (id int(11) and comment text) and I run SELECT id FROM tbExam, does MySQL still have to write that to disk before returning results or will it run that query in memory? I am trying to figure out if I need to reconfigure our actual db tables to switch to varchar(xxxx) or keep the text fields and reconfigure the queries.

• Why don't hardware failures show up at the programming language level?

  I am wondering if anyone can give my a good answer, or at least point me in the direction of a good reference to the following question: How come I have never heard of a computer breaking in a very fundamental way? How come when I declare x to be a double it stays as a double? How come there is never a short circuit that robs it of some bytes and makes it an integer? Why do we have faith that when we initialize x to 10, there will never be a power surge that will cause it to become 11, or something similar? I think I need a better understanding of memory. Thanks, and please don't bash me over the head for such a simple/abstract question.

"2002-11-28T14:00:00Z" I want to just display the time portion.   Suppose I have two vectors of the same size vector< pair<float, NodeDataID> > v1, v2; I want to compute how many elements from both v1 and v2 have the same NodeDataID. For example if v1 = {<3.7, 22>, <2.22, 64>, <1.9, 29>, <0.8, 7>}, and v2 = {<1.66, 7>, <0.03, 9>, <5.65, 64>, <4.9, 11>}, then I want to return 2 because there are two elements from v1 and v2 that share the same NodeDataIDs: 7 and 64. What is the quickest way to do that in C++ ? Just for information, note that the type NodeDataIDs is defined as I use boost as: typedef adjacency_list<setS, setS, undirectedS, NodeData, EdgeData> myGraph; typedef myGraph::vertex_descriptor NodeDataID; But it is not important since we can compare two NodeDataID using the operator == (that is, possible to do v1[i].second == v2[j].second)

  I have a MySQL database with a fairly large table where the products are. Each of them has its own id and categoryId field where there is a category id belongs to this product. Now I have a query that pulls out products from given categories such as: SELECT * FROM products WHERE categoryId IN ( 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 34, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12 ) Of course, come a WHERE clause and ORDER BY sort but not in this thing. Let's say that these products is 250k and the visits are over 100k per day. Under such conditions in the table slow_log registered weight of these queries with large generation time. Do you have any ideas how to optimize the given problem? Table engine is MyISAM.

• Easiest way to keep SSRS child elements in the same relative position when the parent is re-positioned?

  I am trying to revise the layout of an SSRS report where I have several textboxes that are child elements of a rectangle. When I reposition the parent rectangle down by x, all of the child textboxes maintain the same absolute position. Their "Location" (defined relative to the parent) decreases by x. I then need to reposition the child textboxes. Additionally, if any of these ever has a negative "Location" then the parent rectangle is then repositioned back up by x. What is the easiest way to move everything in unison? I can Control-click everything and then drag them or use the arrow keys, but I want to position everything with precision and the "Location" field in the Properties window disappears when selecting more than one item. Is there a way I can avoid individually computing and typing in every "Location" value every time I have a small layout change? I am using SSRS (11.0.3360.12) within the Visual Studio 2012 Shell.
